# Create a Love Lock

A lock is a digital container for a romantic surprise. You write it, lock it, and send it.

## Flow

1. Open [Create](https://lovelock.love/create-lock). You can start without an account; drafts save as you go.
2. Choose a **lock design**.
3. Add **content**: text, photos, video, or a mix.
4. Optionally pick a **background** and an **unlock animation**.
5. Set a **passcode** (hashed with SHA-256 before storage). Confirm it so you do not lock yourself out of the surprise.
6. Choose **access**: public (anyone with the link can try the passcode) or invite-only.
7. Publish. Then share.

## Unlock animations

Optional celebration when the passcode is correct: Glow, Pulse, Sparkles, Hearts Rain, Confetti, Golden Unlock, Diamond Shine. Most animations are premium.

- Copy the lock URL
- QR code for in-person surprises
- Email invitation
- Shareable links (one-time or lasting) for invite-only locks
- Custom vanity links (paid), e.g. a memorable path on lovelock.love

The creator can always open their own lock.
